Network Engineer


Location: Atlanta

Compensation: Starts at $80K; Depends on Experience


Key Responsibilities


  • Coordinate and implement updates to network hardware, operating systems, and attached devices. This includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation and testing of new network hardware and software
  • Support daily network hardware and operating systems operations; this includes evaluation of system use monitoring response time, and serving as primary support for detection and correction of operational problems
  • Assist in research, design, technical review, and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks
    • Monitoring systems, such as SolarWinds Network Monitoring or HP SiteScope
    • LAN and WAN network, vlans etc
  • Troubleshoot physical network problems and collaborate with IT security staff to ensure network security through testing, patching, and upgrading network systems
  • Manage vendor relationships



  • 5+ years’ experience of successful server maintenance and support in a data center environment
  • 3+ years’ experience working with network/distributed computing concepts
  • Strong understanding of common network engineering systems, technology, and methods, including routing, firewalls, DNS servers, and cryptographic tunneling
  • CISCO experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills; good ability to explain network issues to non-technical audiences
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong project management and teamwork skills



  • Bachelor degree in any of the following: computer science, engineering, information technology, OR equivalent years of professional experience
