Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is an entry-to-intermediate level position responsible for assisting with the creation of timely and accurate company financial records. Keen attention to detail, a strong grasp of fundamental accounting methods, strategies and best practices, and a clear commitment to ethical conduct are essential for success in this role. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Create accounting records including financial statements and other reports; assess their accuracy, completeness, and conformance to Finance department/company standards
  • Prepare basic journal entries and maintain ledger
  • Review recurring bank reconciliations and cash composition reports
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Organize records of accounts and enter data into proper accounts, making use of current technologies
  • Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel
  • Prepare wires and transfers
  • Work with other Finance team members to develop, implement, and improve internal accounting procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Continuously develop professional knowledge through participating in professional development opportunities, industry trainings, and maintenance of professional networks
  • Assist with State & Local tax reporting as needed



  • 1+ year in Accounting-related rope
  • Strong financial management skills, including ability to create financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards
  • Familiarity with common current finance/accounting systems such as Quickbooks, Oracle NetSuite, Sage products, or Zoho books
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time management, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent teamwork skills


Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field OR equivalent professional experience
  • MBA or MSA in Accounting preferred but not required
  • CPA preferred but not required
