Data Entry Technician


Location: Atlanta

Compensation: Depends on Experience


The Data Entry Technician is responsible for maintaining company records and databases. Primary responsibilities include entering and updating information on clients, business processes, and related items; reviewing records to ensure accuracy; generating reports and creating data review visuals; and implement recordkeeping best practices and ensure optimization of databases/recordkeeping systems. Accuracy and efficiency together with strong familiarity/ability to learn common database systems are vital for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, and database systems
  • Regularly review and update data records to ensure accuracy; remove unnecessary data and archive records 
  • Review discrepancies in data; advise supervisor of issues related to data and performs data verification routines in accordance with company procedures
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure convenient access to data/records and to implement standardized data entry/organization practices across company
  • Run reports and create visual reviews of data using spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Create data directories for file and report generation retrieval purposes
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks related to hardware/software or files technical assistance requests as necessary


Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience


  • 2+ years’ experience in data entry/maintenance roles
  • Proven ability to successfully utilize word processing systems, spreadsheet systems, data visualization/presentation tools, and various common database types including:
    • CRM
    • HRIS
    • ATS
    • VMS
    • Marketing automation platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Marketo, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of data entry/organization best practices
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to balance thoroughness with effective presentation techniques




  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
